I am looking for strong Senior PHP Developers and also Lead a Developer to join a very exciting and market leading company. Role: Senior PHP Developer and Lead Developer
Location: Sheffield
Start: Immediately
Salary: 32k and 37k respectfully
Type: Permanent

Role and Responsibilities:

·         Investigate, document, debug and performance test code relating to any of my clients core applications.
·         Create technical specification documentation for web based, enterprise level applications as determined by our development road map from their functional requirements.  Approve and assist the technical design work of more junior development team members.
·         Build Windows and web based applications to their technical specifications in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring as few bugs as possible.
·         Ensure code is scalable, reliable, modular and as secure as possible and performs within benchmarks outlined in project specifications.
·         Formal review of peer development work to ensure conformance to development standards.
·         Support more junior members of staff with their day to day activities.
·         Follow formal Alpha, Beta and Gamma testing procedures to ensure code delivers to functional requirements.
·         Roll code changes to the live platform following formal processes.
·         Recommend and assist with the creation of Best Practises for the smooth running of the department.

Essential Skills:
·         Excellent working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript including adherence to W3C standards and industry awareness or up and coming standards.
·         Exceptional PHP skills, including solid OOP experience and the use of industry standard libraries and technologies such as PEAR, PHPLib or Smarty.
·         Good experience of using XML technologies such as SOAP or XSL to their most effectiveness.  Interest in their evolution as improving web technologies.
·         Expert knowledge of the MySQL RMDB and MySQL specific implementation of SQL.
·         Good experience of the test driven development technique and it's implementation in PHP.
·         Excellent technical documentation experience and associated formal techniques, such as UML.
Desirable Skills:
·         Degree in Computer Science.
·        Good mentoring and presentation skills.
