Description:
1. Total of 5 to 6 years with 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in Linux and Web Administration on Linux.
2. Monitoring and admin activities on 100 Linux servers using centralized monitoring tools.
3. Capacity, availability and performance monitoring.
4. Scheduling of Jobs, File system Management.
5. Backing Up of file systems & managing file permissions Shell scripting.
6. Volume management, Creation of Metadata/Logical Volumes.
7. Sharing of file systems, mounting and Un-mounting shared file systems.
8. Setting up kernel parameters on LINUX box.
9. Setting up SSH auto login to other hosts On Web Administration.
10. Good experience on Apache, Tomcat 6, JBOSS 4.05 Patches and compilers (must).
11. Monitoring and admin activities on 125 web instances on LINUX platforms using centralized monitoring tools (must).
12. Installation and configuration of Apache on Linux boxes (must).
13. Installation and configuration of Tomcat on Linux boxes(must).
14. Tomcat connectors - Building apache modules.
15. Experience on PHP/Lamp based applications.
16. House keeping activities on LINUX and web instances.
17. Start/stop application servers; configure Data sources, JDBC Connections, Pools, etc. Create Domains for Application, configure and deploy applications others.
18. Candidate should have secured minimum of 50% across Diploma/Graduation, 12th and 10th.

Responsibilities:

As an Akamai Technical Solutions Engineer you will be an integral member of a team responsible for quickly resolving highly technical, complex issues and providing solutions to customer problems. You will be critical in maintaining the trust of our customers (which include many Fortune 500 corporations). You will work with our customers' technical operations teams to define the issue, resolve it, or enlist a cross-functional team to resolve it.

You will be involved in all technical aspects of Akamai network services and applications. You will work closely with the engineering and support teams to share knowledge, deliver the best possible service for our customers, and improve Akamai by developing tools and ideas based on customer feedback.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Clearly communicate with customers via telephone and email to ensure that you understand the issue and they understand the resolution.
* Work independently with our customers' technical teams on post-sales technical issues. The investigation of technical issues may involve data analysis from Akamai's distributed network and an in-depth examination of the interaction between Akamai and the customer's web server infrastructure.
* Work closely with and manage issue-specific cross-functional teams composed of Engineering, Operations, Sales, Professional Services, and Account Management representatives.
* Define requirements and develop tools/scripts to automate troubleshooting.
* Develop methods and best practices for delivering outstanding service.
* Define, coordinate, and prioritize customer feedback and ideas into engineering requirements for future enhancements to Akamai's services. Work closely with Engineering and Product Management to implement these enhancements.
* Willingness to work NIGHT SHIFTS.( EST/PST)

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering, or Masters in science fields.
* Experience in engineering, systems administration, engineering support, IT, project management or consulting (4+ years).
* Hands on experience with Linux or UNIX with networking exposure.
* Experience with UNIX data manipulation utilities (awk, sed) and regular expressions.
* Programming experience (Perl/shell scripting or Java/C preferable).
* In depth knowledge of how the Internet works (HTTP, DNS).
* Knowledge of common network protocols (TCP/IP) and tools (ping, traceroute).
* Familiarity with the following: J2EE or .NET, XML Webservices, Databases and Webserver administration.
* Strong analytical skills and English verbal and technical writing skills.
* Great problem solvers and can resolve complex, highly technical issues.
* Creative and able to "think-out-of-the-box", propose and implement new Solutions for customers
* Excellent communicators who can disseminate information in a clear and correct manner to both business and technical audiences
* Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities, commitments and projects
* Strong team players who enjoy working in a fast paced team atmosphere
